"The world as we have created it is a process of our thinking it cannot be changed without changing our thinking" - Albert Einstein
As a personal trainer, a lot of people think ya, so you count reps and come up with workouts. And from the outside that may be all you see. But where the magic happens, and my favorite aspect of my profession is getting to coach individuals into having the right mindset to not only get what they want when it comes to fitness but creating that shift in their thinking that leads them to create a more meaningful life for themselves. It's about teaching sustainability and creating a sense of joy and accomplishment in the little things they can do every day that add up to make a big difference down the road. Working out is challenging, it's sweaty, it's uncomfortable. Eating more vegetables takes effort and having better nutrition requires mindfulness. If all I did was count reps and tell you what to eat, you would be missing out on what is arguably the most important aspect of long term change and success when it comes to health and fitness, which is the mindset coaching. It's about finding your why, because that's what is going to keep you in the game for the long haul and not just the first 4 weeks of the New Year because you know, new year new me, right? What if this time it actually stuck, what if this time you committed to bettering your life through small, consistent changes? Instead of a crash diet and 2 trips a day to the gym that you are only willing to maintain for a month because no one has that much willpower and energy.
