🌎 Sociology 🌍
Human nature is not static. It changes and is determined by the situation in which one is in for short term.
It can also be changed long term through socialization. For many, "social engineering" is a buzz word with negative connotations, but we are all socially engineered to conform to the society in which we were raised.
In our society we stress personal gain and wealth over everything else. Thus, what results of this is a very selfish and greedy society. Some other side-effects, though less direct, are racism, sexism, transphobia, xenophobia, and so on.
In other societies like Denmark, Iceland or Cuba even, the greater good is stressed. In those societies, people aren't pressured to focus on individual success or personal wealth and competition, but rather, group success and cooperation. What results of this is a very friendly society where all are taken care of. Significantly lower crime rates and very low wealth inequality which leads to superior socioeconomic conditions, thus, paving the way for more all-around opportunity.
