If you want to maintain good health and increase your energy you must exercise consistently. So many of us know this, but yet it's so easy to come up with excuses to why we can't: "I just don't have time" "I'm too tired". That was me, always coming up with a reason why I couldn't fit a workout into my "busy" schedule. It is true what they say, you find time for the things that really matter. I was finally tired of looking through photos and I wasn't in them because I was uncomfortable with how I looked. I would rather hide behind the camera than be in front of it. I was tired of being tired all the time. I had no energy whatsoever!?! I was really tired of my knees aching all the time! I am only 5'3" and did you know that I was 200 pounds at one point! I am sure I may have been heavier, but I avoided the scale! I know all that extra weight was the cause for the pain in my knees. If i wanted to see a change, I had to make a change and so I did. I started to get up earlier to get my workout in. I know for me if I don't get it done first thing in the morning I will find an excuse to why I can't do it later on in the day. I changed my eating habits and took my new journey one day at a time. With the help of my challenge groups I was able to stay accountable. They helped me realize if you have one bad day, it isn't the end of the world. We are focused on living a healthy lifestyle, not a strict diet.
I am proud of how far I have come. When i first started doing yoga I could barely reach my knees and now look at me palming the floor. It wasn't easy getting started and learning how to change my habits, but it has all been worth it. There are still days where I struggle with my nutrition, but I am still taking it one day at a time.
