Fun fact about me! 🙈 I was't always on a path for 'mindful gains'. For example just a year ago I would allow my self to have 3 doughnuts in a row, sometimes up to 4 times a week. A tub of ben and jerries l was a joke to me, gone in one sitting. Sure at the time I was still bodybuilding, being active, playing volleyball so from the outside I looked happy and fit. But on the inside my body was inflamed and unhappy. I had severe mood swings from the combo of stress and all the sugar I was consuming. This of course led to hormonal imbalance causing dysmenorrhea [painful period and PMS syndrome]. My facial skin was spotty and oily and I develop rosacea [inflamed facial skin, on the nose particularly]. In addition from all that I developed candida, which I didn't know about up until the end of my final degree year.
I just want to say those things I mentioned are not normal. Having chronic infection, inflammation or disease is not normal. We should be pain, infection and inflammation free. The human body is not meant to regularly have painkillers or anti-inflammatory medication. Drugs are a temporary treatment, NOT a cure to the underlying disease.
Attend to your body and its needs. Don't wait a few more years to find out you have developed a chronic disease. Since I have changed my nutritional habits I have healed my body and my mind. I feel like a new person, and I am only at the start of my journey. It is never too late to change, to be the better version of yourself. Attend to, and be friends with the part of you that has been neglected.
Stay mindful 🌿
