❗️Unattractive but helpful post ❗️ I developed acne at the age of 12. I was started on antibiotics for months at a time, different creams, roll on topicals that left my skin sore and dry. Every face wash, face mask that was branded to ‘eliminate blackheads and spot’ was purchased with little effect. I was also started on the pill to try and help my skin but again it never worked...the latest obsession I had was chemical peels that again, didn’t clear my skin at all!
This went on for 10 years until the start of this year. I was told about dairy being linked to causing or worsening acne..I didnt think that was possible but looked up some research anyway. There was so much information about cutting out dairy and testimonials of people swearing by a dairy free diet to clear up acne.
So on January 1st I cut out dairy. The first picture is my skin on this day👎🏼 The second pictures were taken in May, 5 months dairy free and I just couldn’t believe the difference! ✨
Last week my sister came home from the Middle East as a surprise and We went up north to see some more of Scotland. Everything we cooked was cooked in butter because we forgot to buy oil🙈 but when I came back my skin had fired up again (third picture)🙅🏼 If anyone has struggled with their skin, honestly try it. It doesn’t mean you need to keep it out your diet forever. I had a hard time trying to introduce it back in so gave up. There are so many dairy free alternatives these days that I don’t miss it as much as I thought I would! My skin is slowly clearing up again now I’m back to my normal dairy free diet, but also with the help of products from @kiehls
. Along with clearer skin I bloat less and I’m not sure if it’s linked but my hair is growing faster so that’s a bonus 🙋🏼 #skincare #acne #dairyfree #kiehls
