Pushpa, a nurse and midwife in Nepal, places a newborn baby in the arms of its grandmother.
After a prolonged and difficult labor, the baby was born at home with a blocked airway. Pushpa, who had just finished our newborn care training, was able to resuscitate the baby with newly acquired skills. It wasn't until her own complicated birthing experience motivated her to become a healthcare worker, but overcoming obstacles to pursue her dream has resulted in unexpected rewards. “I became a health worker thinking I would help women,” she told us, ”but now I am also saving newborns.” #MondayMotivation
