Yesterday, the White House released a budget proposal which calls for drastic funding cuts that would severely undermine the United Nations' ability to respond to current crises and would cripple humanitarian programs, putting the lives of the world's most vulnerable girls and women at risk. We witnessed UN programs in action two weeks ago in Guatemala where we met the amazing girls in this photo at San Andres Xecul School. Maria and Mirna (front center and left) told us they were able to stay in school and pursue their dreams thanks to UN-funded programs in their community. Without those programs, they would have had to quit school and get married as young as 12. Now is the time to take a stand so girls like Maria and Mirna have a chance at a brighter future. Make your voice heard and tell Congress to continue to fully fund UN programs: link in bio. 📸: @_saul.martinez

"As Teen Advisors, we decided to make this video to show that we support refugees and believe that all countries should work to ensure the safety and prosperity of displaced people...Our mission is simple: to empower girls living in hard to reach places around the world, and there are millions of these girls in refugee camps. We stand with refugees because we want everyone to have the opportunities we were born with. We stand with refugees because we have a duty to do so." ⠀ Girl Up is proud of our Teen Advisors who stand #withrefugees and created this video to share their message with the world! #GirlStrong Watch the full video in our YouTube page.
